Correct so if you were in France you would expect the French to pronounce your name Gilbert, as it would be pronounced in the country you are from.

If you were French and it was pronounced Jilbear when you were in England you would expect it to be pronounced Jilbear.

Like we pronounce Thierry Henry's name correctly.
