Put it this way I've got a Spektrum DX7S (so seven) and I want more.

This is what I crave for next:

BTW: The cheap way to do it is to buy the Turnigy 9X from Hobbyking that gives you 9 channels, then buy the programming board from smartyparts for 50 dollars and you can then upgrade to ER9X which gives you up to 16 channels.

Sadly the radio its self is a bit tacky but its CHEAP.

Yes. I wasn't aware it was a competition. I looked at various plane type things but I thought as I was more interested in what I would film the drone was better as you have more control and can hover on the spot etc

I did my first flight with the Goggles and Autopilot on saturday and it was AWESOME! I've changed to 1.3ghz video gear now too which has a much less problem with reflections and intereference from WIFI.

The Return to Launch option on the autopilot was faultless: I went out about 1.5 miles, hit the home switch and it came straight back no issues

I've got a Dell Latitude XT Tablet PC on the way and a 868mhz radio link so I can use my GCS software with a touch screen.

Yeah just hope it shows up!

I've built a smaller version of my ground station too now as the TV I used in the big one suffered really badly from intereference from my 433mhz radio gear.

And my finished goggles.

First proper test of the 1.3ghz video system:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_Jh9FKIzko&feature=youtu.be

I got out to 1.2km with no real degredation and it even turned out my RX antenna wasnt polarized the same as the TX so the range should be ridiculous... I plan to fly to the lakes in the video next weekend

I discovered its really fussy about its supply voltage, it ideally wants 12v but my batteries are 11.1v so when they are low the transmitter starts freaking out (hence the messed up footage at the end).. But I've now got myself a step up transformer for it
