apart from the look of them being slightly different is the rest of the car the same as an S line?
insurance is also higher on them from the quotes Ive had.

- Titanium finish wheels
- Bang & Olufsen Sound system
- DAB digital radio
- AMI
- Black styling package
- Piano black inlays

However, I think Audi have started to add more add-on like Parking Senor plus.

I have a Special Edition, which I think was replaced by the Black Edition - so I have the additions expect the black styling. Soooo many options! lol

Rear tinted windows too, my sister has a black edition tt and my brother has an a3 sportback black edition. Nice looking motors.

My sisters doesn't have parking sensors tho :S

Black editions are slightly higher hp in both petrol and derv models, and have black styling on gril and window surround.
As for the stereo, older b7 audis are bose and new b8 audis are b&o. Audi dont use bose anymore but in both ages the stereo is an option pack so not all black editions have uprated sound.

Nope, that comparison would be more akin to an Audi S-Line and an Audi S model.

M-sports tend to have different bumpers front and rear, skirts, wheels, engine components, suspension etc over a standard model, similar to an S-line over a standard Audi.

The blacks don't seem as good value for money to me, just a way for Audi to scrape every possible sale out of their range with a variety of pointless additional models like Vauxhall do.

Google would suggest not but we had an 11 plate one on hire for 2 weeks about a year ago and that came with a bose stereo as it had a handbook with it unless Audi screwed that up

Bose is still available - in some its the only stereo option available

B&O is the only option in others

and to add to the weirdness - both are available in others (A8 for definate - not sure on Q7 and A7 etc)

As for the engines - they dont produce any more power whatsoever

Finally someone with actual knowledge. Good luck trying to make any sense of Audi trim levels and what is standard/options though.

They did. It's all B&O now, in A4's anyway. Mine has it.

AFAIK the diff between the S-Line and S-Line Black Edition is black trim and wheels. Engines are same.

I'm after a Black Edition when I change mine.

Also bear in mind the A4 has been face lifted early this year too.

Audi still fit cars with Bose.

What stereo you get as part of the Black package depends entirely on the model, if the Black package gives you any stereo upgrade at all.
