Im again looking for a new car, im 21 next month so insurance becomes abit more reasonable. Been working and saving hard so have £15,000-£17,500 to spend on a car. MPG isnt an issue as I have a company car. Im not too keen on the tuning side of things but the Evo X does have a certain appeal.

At the moment im split between...

  • BMW E60 M5
  • Evo X Tuned to arounf 350bhp
  • 2004 Audi RS6 4.2 V8 Twin Turbo
  • BMW E90 M3

Any other suggestions guys?

Thanks

E90 M3 for me.

M5 & RS6 maintenance and repair costs are outwith my pay grade & I really dont like Evo's!

Infact dont think you'd get a good E90M for the budget, i'd get a B7 RS4 in sprint blue!

Ah man i wish i had that cash at 21

E90 M3 you will need finance on? Not dropped under £20k yet. Think that will happen with the M4's release IMO.

E60 M5 for me. V10

E60 m25 has outrageous running and maintenance costs.

I'd go for the rs4 or m3.

I did have cash when I was 21, its now im past 20's I seem to be rooked!

Ive seen a few 18-19k examples. Not a car i'd want to buy bottom end though!

My mate sold his E60M when it needed tyres, brakes, service & ins renewing all at once

Jesus mate what job do you have? But fair fucks tya for saving that amount (or at all really!)!

Evo X sounds good, ever thought of a Subaru Impreza? Can pick up a good one from about 05-06 for about £10k.

I'd be saying some sort of Audi. Extremely nice cars. Rs4/S3.

Who's insuring you on those at 21 out of interest?

Any on that list at that price will be old(ish), high mileage and more likely to be at a point where they require more money spending on them, whether it be for big services, repairs etc.

I'd go for a super tidy, low mileage S3, 3 Series Coupe M-Sport, TT S-Line. ie. The top of the next bracket down rather than the bottom of the next bracket up which you seem to be looking at.

About to ask the same thing.

Insurance aside, id also be putting an SL55 in the options and a 996, may even a corvette c5 and something that will only go up in value (escos, e30 m3).

Bell insurance seem to be cheapest on most cars i looked at.

Never thought of the RS4 and when i mentioned it to a friend turned out his dad was selling his. So went to have a look.

Sound of V8 and grip of quattro didnt take long for my heart to take over my head and agreed a buy. Pick it up on Tuesday

Car is a B7 RS4 in red, 45k miles, 2007, Recaro Wingbacks, Satnav ect.

Already had a full Milltek exhaust with de-cat, KW suspension (unsure of which model), ARB's, Standard wheels powdercoated in gunmetal grey.

Getting MOT'd on Monday. Was abit more than i was hoping to pay but got a good deal.

Will get some pics up Tuedsay

Not happy having to wait till next month till it can get insured tho lol
