pretty poor in what way? looks wise?

heres the final prototype shrink wrapped

in the drone

its not pretty but if it was pretty in a nice box it would add weight and these quadricopters are sensitive to extra weight.

Iv even taken the receiver out of its plastic casing to save weight

Its a marder, didn't get a baja in the end.

I fitted alloy hubs to it, new bearings that lasted 15mins Done quite a bit to it now and all works fine. Had it out this morning and crashed into mums new plum tree and damaged the stump, its only about an inch round

Hoping she won't notice and just blame the winter

I really worry about you.

That is something I would have done and worried about when I was 12.

Thats what I would like to know as it's out of wifi range.

Sorry i didnt see it.

You can still use your smartphone to record and take stills obviously you only maintain that control upto the wifi rangeof your phone, further than that it still carries on recording to usb however you dont get the control to take stills. i just capture a still from the video normally/

autoland etc is all inbuilt into the arduinos program and is controlled by the sticks on the RC controller. if you are interested in one of my kits i do several types ranging from 1500 feet range to 2.5kms obviously reflected in price, drop me a u2u if youre interested

arduino initiates auto land

if you monitor the values in hyperterminal you can see whats happening when you turn the tx off

I assumed the drone had built in autoland anyway?

Edit - Also, have you got 'return to base' on this? Assuming a GPS module interfaces with the Arduino/ATMega rather than the drone itself?

No, the default the drone does if loses wifi connection is hovers until its back in range, this can lead to flyaways as if it receives interference and flies off on its own it wont come back down again, lots of people have lost their drones like that.

Yes return to base is a feature you can use with a gps add on that Im also developing as a seperate product.

some pics of how the latest revision of the mod looks

compared to the previous models i made

also a revised lighter weight plug

now only weighs ten grams
