I think ive decided to remove all the "track" bits off the car and get the car looking top notch.

Atm its a mess with all the paint chips etc and bubbling throughout the clam.

Ive put aside £1500 for it to be done but is this a realistic amount?

I want a good finish and the car will need minor fibreglass work.

Thoughts?

Surely your best bet, would be to find a trusted place you want to take your car to and ask them for a quote?

Tom could probably give you an idea of the cost. Obviously he's quite far from where you are, but you'd know how much to expect at least.

I'd say you need more money, just for paint never mind the fibreglass work

Pointless wrapping it. Its stone chipped to fuck, would just be putting wrap over stone chips so it would look the same.

I fancied That mazda 2 green colour.

I have thought about wrapping but the fibreglassing would still have to be done.

no thanks.

i just spoke to a guy my garage reccomended, they spray TVR's and lotus' and the odd VX so they know a little about fibreglass clams etc and apparently their work is top notch so im going to bugger off over there one weekend and have a chat with them so they can see the car.

he did say about £1500 if i kept it the same colour inc all the damage sorting but upwards of 2 - 2.5k if i wanted a colour change.

Internet experience counts for far more than real life experience. My real life experience of back to back car comparisons was voided due to superior internet experience

Still seems cheap to me personally, but prices 'oop north' may vary somewhat I guess!

Cheaper price for same colour will possibly mean wheel arches, door shuts, engine bay etc will be left untouched.

Surely is just science. If wrapped over a stone chip but hasn't dimpled then there is air behind it, which may have moisture in it so fucked glue plus as it expands/contracts ue to head it will deform?
