Well guys, i think its time i start a project thread on my new(ish) Smoke Grey Corsa GSI.

Ill first write about my first GSI, RIP

About Three years ago i bought my first gsi, and totally fell in love.

I slightly modified it along the way with wheels etc!

On the way back from work one day whilst driving my pride and joy somone pulled out infront of me when i was going around 100mph, i managed to slow down to about 50mph and went straight into the back of the van!

Cut a long story short, the car wasnt to bad, damage wise but once a guy got recomened to me to fix it i decided to give it a go! Weeks went by and i finally got the car back, Looked an absolute mess, with different coloured panels etc! Was not happy!! More weeks went past and the car started to fuck up, so took it to a mate that worked for Courtenay Sport and drove a rally spec corsa b! He checked it over and it had numerous things wrong, Belt steering column, etc etc! He said about £3000 would fix the lot properely.

Obviously i didnt have the money as i cant save worth a fuck, so asked father and he wasnt keen on spending that money on an old car. So decided to trade it in to vauxhall for £2000 haha they never even checked it!

I bought a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 Limited Edition on Finance (worst mistake ever)
Modified it alot, and alot of people around me loved it.

I had been searching ever since buying that car for another Smoke Grey GSI! Finally one came up and i had to have it So went to arnold clark and sold them the car for £8000, Once my check cleared i payed off my remaining finance which was £6000 and had £2000 to myself

Went straight to the bank and withdrawed the money then straight to the boys house that was selling the gsi I was told it looked like this

But when i went to see it it had Black Cesaros and a hideous exhaust. I loved the black Cesaros but i new the exhaust backbox had to get changed asap. I knew this car was a redtop which concerned me a bit as it looked a total Dodged job!! Wires etc everywhere! Smelt of oil and petrol, so wasnt keen to start, but thought fuck it, its mine! He wanted £1700, which when i seen it was far to high. He asked if i wanted a test drive so i went out a spin and noticed that it had a short shift gear selector which i liked, but the inside was very dirty, but drove alright. So i offered him £1200 and he said he would keep it so i offered him £1350 and he accepted

Signed the documents and away i went with a massive smile on my face! Thrashing it back to my house

Got back to garage and parked her up for the night.

Next day decided to check out fuel and oil leaks.

The Sump had crack where someone tryed to fill it before and the petrol tank and a small hole at the top. So called a few of my mates and he had a spare sump that looked it good condition

Went to a Scrap yard and found a 1.4 corsa, so took that petrol tank as it looked in good condition which it is (fingers crossed as it hasnt leaked yet) Fitted that and all seems fine!

Few Weeks gone by and ive been payed

Mate had some rear MHW rear lights, so bought them for £30 (bargin)

And Fitted

Wheelbaring was next!

Sourced some Morette Headlights and some Indicators

Fitted Morettes

Next was that hidelous backbox. Bought a 2" outward rolled one from a friend, slightly small but does for the time being.

and Fitted ..

Took a photo of the hideous engine bay,

First decided to give it a clean as it was very dirty, made it looked slightly better but still could be better.

This was the car now

Loved the look with the bonnet raised so got my mate to get me some plates from his work, marked and drilled them then fitted.

Weekend came and i had a car show, so got my friend to detail the car as it was covered in swirl marks, now has none and looks gleaming!

(bonnet not shut)

Weekend was over and a few people said the engine bay was messy, so at it i went!

The car dosent have power steering but all the pipes, brackets etc are all still there, so decided to remove them all as they were taking up room.

The standard radiator and fan was fucked, so removed them.

Once i disconected the Rad and removed pipes, the Thermostat housing looks fucked, so might need a new one?

Noticed quite alot of rust on the bottom cross member. Thought i better do somthing about it, so masked everything off.

Got my grinder and sander out and have started to grind and remove all the surface rust off, thank god its only surface!

and while im at it the slam panel had some rust spots so sanded them down aswell

Now im waiting for Radiator and Fan to arrive and then will Update!
Hope you enjoy it so far, and if youve decided to read it all thanks

Thanks, haha yeah it was nothing I thought it was, I was tidying up the wires and came across the live wire which was loose lol Glad its sorted!

Well I'm not to sure, I fancy taking engine out, cleaning up the bottom end and box as its covered in oil from when I had a leak, then sand an spray the engine bay as its seen better days. Then while it's out Fit, ancillary, coolant and breather silicon hoses and get a forge header tank. Then replace the rusty mounts maybe and spray them. Also waiting on my new Radiator and Fans coming, then some more power, new manifold, full system. The list is endless mate lol
