I'm 99.9% certain my cam cover gasket is leaking (common issue) and cause of my heavy oil usage as the area around it was filthy, before I replace it though I figured it would be a wise move to clean it all up and and try to narrow the leak down to a specific area so when I fix it I know its fixed!

10 minutes with the degreaser and the jet wash on low power left me with this.









Hopefully i'll be doing the gasket next weekend and giving it a service at the same time

Think I'd be too scared of going at an engine bay with a pressure washer. Surely it's asking for trouble?

Was the vario lance on very low pressure, I've driven it since and it's fine so I guess it's all good

I found my filler cap was leaking a little bit and making think it was the rocker gasket, new ones are a few pound.

Yeah it was a bit messy around there as well, that's the plan for cleaning it all up, allows me track it down hopefully - gone are the days when I throw money at parts without actually investigating the problem properly first

When servicing the car in November, I found the spark plugs where covered in oil which is generally a result of the cam cover gasket failing, picked one up from TPS earlier this week and got on with it this morning.



Old one just before removal, when it came off it was stiff as a board as a board so a job worth doing.



That's where the pictures end as I had to crack on as I was pretty tight on time, took a couple of hours overall.

Next job is the inner cv boot (lost count of how many times this has gone now) and then MOT during Christmas and New Year.

Another years MOT today thanks to -Tom-

Track rod end was the only advisory so i'll replace that and it's 100%

Nice! What led's are they? I had ebay cheap ones before and they burnt themselves out. Put osram ones in and the canbus system started going mental.

How did you do the side light bulbs?

Tried changing mine from LED to normal bulbs the other day as I think it looks shit against the xenon but gave up after 20 mins!

What bit did you get stuck on? Getting the bulb out the headlight?
Attempted the passenger side, didn't make it as far as the drivers side.

Once I removed the top covers so you can actually get behind the headlight, I took off the rear cover and couldn't locate the sidelight bulb at all!

Once the cover is off, have a look inside and you will see a white bulb holder with a clip holding it in, push the clip to the side and pull the holder out, that removes the fog and sidelight assembly.
