Fair play to Ireland for not stopping the game. And that was a penalty too.

Gonna miss the 1st half tonight due to work.

Shitty cunty fuck.

But even worse than that, my FIL who is retired, but does consultancy work, has booked in a meeting starting at 5pm. Schoolboy error.

I think I am more excited about seeing certain teams progress out of the group stages.

I'll reserve all England opinion until after the game, that and I don't really care/ever expected us to win!

We all know it'll be a boring defensive display, and we'll no doubt concede a poor goal, but I always look forward to the matches too. Constant disappointment!

I would never expect anything else We'll be defensive and hit them on the counter. I just hope Downing doesn't play. Milner I can understand starting to cover Johnson.

Had Downing put anything other than poor performances since leaving Villa? I've not seen him have even a half decent game for England and he was poor all season for Liverpool.

I remember a few people laughing at Welbeck earlier this season. Now he could be starting for England at the Euros Way better choice than Carroll.

i also remember not long ago a lot of people saying we had no strikers, now we have quite a selection of "reasonable" strikers

We have 1 world class striker and behind that a lot of average players.

I'd still have Defoe over the other 2, but realistically he needs to be playing off someone

I'll happily admit Welbeck has come on a lot, and his finish the other day was top drawer, but he's not international quality.

We just don't have anything else

Between Carroll and Welbeck I'd definitely start Welbeck though as we're blatantly going to be trying to play counter attack, he's much more suitable

No, but he's proven to be fairly average at Premiership level in an incredibly good team, so I don't consider him international quality.

yet, he may come on a lot more, he may not
