Going to be servicing my corsa c 1.4 twinport in a few days, question is ive got some engine flush as I've noticed some
Gunk on the oil cap, not loosing water so just condensation, oils pretty dirty so guessing its well over due a service, do these flushes works any bad sides to using them?

I've always been told not to use them and just do regular oil changes instead.

I was thinking of doing the same on my corsa to try reduce the tapping when its cold.

Would thicker oil work?

Heard about engine flushes thinning the oil out so it removes it easier, from the likes of bearings
But it can stay in there, resulting in thinner oil being present in bearings which rely on decent oil for lubrication.
Id stay away from it

Think it's Lucas stuff, I've always avoided it but only due to hear say, think I'll try it can't see it doing any real harm other wise surely they wouldn't sell it, I no vauxhall offer it when you take your car in.

That's what I'd been told of before, mines already noisy from the timing chain! Maybe I might leave it as its running fine maybe just flush it with a few litres of clean oil instead!

The mayo on the cap will be condensation mixing with the oil from the plastic cam covers on them.
