Best place to sell a car on the net just now - ebay / pistonheads ?? excellent spec very low mileage fsh 2005 scooby wrx here that I just cant seem to shift, I know petrol prices, insu, roadtax etc put a lot off folk off these types off cars nowadays but there is still a big following for them and such examples are still very much saught after unfortunatly no interest in mine so far !!

ebay or pistonheads- one any better than the other or both full off the usual timewasters / chancers etc !!

They're both full of both, I've had about the same success with either of them.

Tried my Punto on Auto Trader, Gum Tree, Pistonheads, Facebook and eBay.

Sold it to someone through eBay on a Classified listing. Do this, as most people may be put off by paying for a car through eBay.

PH has hardly any cars for sale these days due to it not being free for most folk. I never look on there anymore.

Always sold and bought through Gumtree with no problems.

Classified on eBay is just a non bidding advert. Basically like a buy it now.

PH is only 1 sort of advert now. £9.99. Mines free but thi k you had to be registered before a certain date in 2009, and you can only sell a certain number per year or they start charging like my friend found out

Yeah, Classified is just the opportunity to advertise to eBays audience, but no bidding or paying for on the web. You just take the advert down once you sell it on your driveway.

It is also a lot cheaper, as it's one fee for inserting, and no silly ~40% final value fees etc.

Only ever sold cars using Autotrader.

PH's & Ebay only attracted ridiculous offers & unwanted swaps.

i always sell on ebay, audience is huge. classified add every time, start slightly high, drop it down depending on watchers/offers etc

key is a good advert, well worded, all info you can put in, and a good set of photos

Okay great thanks for that, will certainly check it out, so there is only a listing fee no Final value fees / paypal fees etc, makes you wonder why fold bother advertsing outwith the classifieds ??!!
