Their good for the money and easy to use

Limited functions though, having said that, you can read and delete faults so saves going the garage everytime you have a dash light on

Looks similar to mine, plug it in, tell it to read codes, then there is a book with it that tells you the meaning, and you can erase it if you wish.

I just put the codes into Google.. usually comes up with a forum or list before I've finished typing.

i just got one. seems to work ok. told me the reason the engine light was on was lambda sensor so saves going out buying a cat first i guess.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

we use them at college, are good tbf. ive got a website that tells you what EVERY code is.

will say though, just because it tells you a fault doesnt necessarily mean that replacing that sensor etc will fix the problem. you do have to use a bit of brains too.

If its for a Vauxhall Id get op-com:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OP-COM-VAUXHALL-OPEL-V-CAN-BUS-OBD2-DIAGNOSTIC-OPCOM-FAULT-CODE-READER-SCANNER-/260897018382?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item3cbeac920e

Fantastic bit of kit, can do much more than just read and erase fault codes. Mine has paid for itself many times over.
