been up all night and most of today upgrading my machine to win2000 pro its a bastid

still my writer wont work
my lan wont work
and a few other niggles
ill be here to tommorow just getting it all set up!

win 200 pro upgrage.
i formatted hd
installed 98 then upgraded it
it was hard untill i go a cd drive working
"hard to put drivers on with cd when cd drive isnt workin"

its an only upgrade version of 2000

why didnt u just get XP?

dont get on it on a copy tho...u cant upgrade it..

and yep sounds like a dodgy cable..i think thier like 5-6 quid for a new 1? not sure tho..was a while ago.

XP shud really only be put on from scratch, runs on NTFS where as 98 ME etc run on FAT32 system. When u convert/upgrade it alters the file system to NTFS and this can wreck the HD as it did for a mate of mine. Really u need to format the HD in NTFS style using the XP cd as the startup, should work fine then with everthin when you load drivers back on! Have fun!

No difference between installing XP and 2k from scratch. If you're installing XP, then get XP Pro. If you've got the home version then .

my file system was upgraded to ntfs or whatever
my sound is gay only 2 of for speakers!
my lan round the house is gay wont work!
its 2000 pro that ive installed
and creative launcher mixer player etc for my sound card all lock when started BOLLOKS!
AH fuck it im goin to bed ill have another go tommorow
