they never actually open the bonnet do they?

well i know they dont in NI cause you drive it thru yourself

they do open it to have a look around the engine bay.

on the new system you just drive it in through the doors then the examiner takes it from there and u have to sit and watch while they shake the poo out of it!!

lol markus, no, ive been tryin to get the colour code sorted.
ive pushed it down, but 3 big marks, and have a bit of trouble opening the bonet.
but im now thinking do a marv and get a black BB bonnet
and tint windows, might look cool.

They open it so they can stick something in where the dipstick goes.

The thing they put in the dipstick hole is a temperature probe which they could bypass but they still need to be able to open the bonnet!

yea will fail if bonnet or boot wont open cos as ains says they need to get oil temp for emmisions and they need to see brake pipes/servo pipe etc and the boot the need to see spare tyre if u got 1 and seat belt mountains etc

no, you don't have to have a spare wheel, but if you do have one it must be road legal. lotus elises and the like don't have spare wheels, just a can of tyre weld.

You dont have to have a spare tyre and if you do it can be flat bald wires coming through blebbed anything as they will not look at it. The only time a spare tyre could come into an MoT is if you have a shit car that has it mounted underneath in which case they will check it for security!

when i had mY mot the didnt chekc my boot or spare wheel lol my sub boxes prevent me getting the spare wheel out thats why i carry tyre weld!
