 | I used to have them on my carbon bonnet. Never had a problem with them bit of a pain to get them both level.

 | You don't have to have a cable no. The reason I had them is my bonnet only had 1 catch, once you pulled the cable it was released so I wanted to make sure it wouldn't flip up on me.
