 | Looks like hub and disk painted with hammerite.
Maybe its the wheel with no locking wheel nuts?

 | I would say it's the fact the disc has been painted

 | Thing is though i'm sure the disk would clean up after the brakes had been applied a few times.

 | Surely its the fact the pad contact on the disk is pretty much non existant?

 | Must be the fact that the caliper barely reaches the disk.

So either its the wrong caliper, wrong disk, or the caliper is mounted in the wrong position.

 | It does tho, it's the discolouration that makes it look short? You can see where the pads have took off the silver?

 | Only problem I can see is a gay looking choice of brake discs. Hopefully he didn't mean the lack of locking nuts because mine doesn't have any either, pointless. I'm still waiting for the OP to fill us in on what the issue is

 | looking at the colour of the disc in comparison to the hub nut id say we're meant to be looking at the fact that someones painted the brake disc.

 | Didn't think that was unheard of? Seen them do that at garages before to brighten them up a bit. Could be wrong.

 | took me a while to spot it because there were a few things i was confused by.

Discs look crap for starters, pad a disc contact looks fairly minimal, and the discs appear to have been painted.

 Not overly cool.

 | Id say the standard discs have a smaller contact area than these uprated "wavy" discs have.

 What car was it?
