I've looked into this a couple of times but given up because I've not found the information I've wanted after ages.

Is there a good forum somewhere that has a guide of how it all works?

I was told last night to make sure you only buy 1-3 months at a time. The guy I was speaking to fits the stuff for a living (aerial man, a dodgy one).

Mainly because, after 4 months after him buying a 12 month code, the company died.... and who would you moan to...!

Will post the full list up tonight, told him I wanted the full shebang, every channel you can get

Full sky hd, full movies hd, and all the foreign channels for America and around the world.

Off the top of my head;

  • Spiderbox or equiv - £150 (Non HD versions are around £50)
  • Motorised Dish - £30
  • Some kind of transformer - £35
  • Few cables - £No idea, he's supplying, just tv and sat wire from a dish. £20ish
  • Code - 3 months - £25
  • Done...!

Because I havnt got a dish for me it comes out around; £350 in total, as it needs fitting, if you already have wires & dish, you only need the box, a code, and the transformer.

Ok so gonna order a dreambox 500s or 800HD, not sure yet, the HD one supports sky3D too so its tempting. Whats different with the spiderbox? Iv always heard the dreamboxes were the best? then again iv never heard of the spiderbox. I found this site http://cardsharingserver.com/in.php?id=71419 I only want the Sky UK and its only $8 a month on there.

Does it need connected to a PC all the time then?

I've got almost all the UK sky channels anyway so not bothered about that.

the dreambox doesn't need to be connected , only when ftping stuff to it or updating channel bouquets etc. it needs to be connected to internet all the time though if you are watching encrypted channels. I usually buy 3months at a time for £25ish
