Tell me about it!

If it wasn't for the timing belt case with cut outs for pullies, I wouldn't of noticed the metal flakes

is that red part powdercoated as the finish on that looks great , you not going to ditch the airbox stick a filter on it and have that arch smothed over think it would look even better then

Hmm.

Them pipercross ones like Shaun's are fancy. Just think it'll suit it more if it looks symmetrical with other side done too.

Looking good! Good work from Tom as always too

I'd leave the airbox on it personally, my xe always drove better without an open cone.

Should use a grommet mate, use the one where the 1.2 16v goes. This way you can use the grommet that is already there

Thanks Chris, this thread doesn't describe 10% of what ara been through tbh.

Daryl, this is my plan now. Do all models have that grommet? How dd you fit look through it?

Yeah they all have it, on my phone at the moment but in my project thread there's a photo of it. Basically I cut it open and made a bigger hole so both looms can go through then taped it all back together

Cheers daryl.

Took loom out today, got to point I unplugging ECU and about 1/4 pint of water fell out. The grommet was in VERY TIGHTLY?

not good, chin up though mate you've had worse happen and sorted it as you will this, when you put the grommet in tigerseal it up, might look a bit messy but will seal it well I take it that the ECU is fried or is it ok?

No idea on ECU mate, guess time will tell. I've left it to dry out.

Last person had cut grommet compleltly, then taped back up. I didn't know this, water has obviously got through.

Idiots.

So far, I've replace original head, the original bottom end, new clutch, and replaced whole loom.

Engine I bought was shit.
