I got L.A. Noire for my birthday yesterday! 
360 version, so 3 discs
Does the PS3 version really cause it to overheat then?

“With the launch of LA Noire a very small number of Xbox 360 console owners have reported issues with the game freezing or locking up while playing,” said a Rockstar spokesperson to MCV.
At this time, Rockstar Games and Sony can confirm that neither L.A. Noire or firmware update 3.61 are causing the PS3 hardware to overheat.”
Probably just getting YLOD, imo.
Still, it's one of the first games that actually looks better on the PS3

I've bought this yesterday and I have to say some of the stuff people have been saying on here is pretty harsh. I played it for 4 hours without noticing, properly screwed my day up. I don't like driving around though, I just get the other person to do that, GTA was never a good game to me (Apart from the first one)

360 version crashed on me a few times as well, no overheating, red lights or small fires though.

Played the game for a good 20 hours on 360 I reckon now and not crashed once.
