when I try enter say the following....

8944122250030679240

I get

8944122250030670000

I change it the cell to text format and it works fine most of the time, but sometimes it doesn't..

any way of turning this auto format shit off?

does my head in when you've got 20-30 to do

try typing it in one cell then in the next do =value or =abs and link to it, that might work

Should be fine as long as you format the cell as text before you type in the number? Won't work right if you format it afterwards.

put a ' in before each number.
It's a limitation within excel.

Can't you up the precision in Excel somehow? Is it not in cell properties?

OMG OMG

I'd like to thank my Mum and Dad for bringing me into this world and making this possible. Bill Gates and Paul Allen for creating Microsoft. Mr Owens my old IT teacher who first taught me this trick back in college. Everyone on CS.

Thank you all
