mine always does it on the passenger side!think its coz ov the plastic door cards they cause static between them and the metal!

theres a rubber bit on the back of ur car which touchs the ground to stop u gettin shocks mine has snapped off sounds like urs has to

on mine its near the rear right wheel its jus a tiny thread of rubber that jus dangles down to hit the ground

The rubber bit dont come as standard, has to be put on. Ive never had one on. Cant understand why ive been gettin them last few days, dont usally!

Whoever said kick the door shut - tried that a min ago when i got out car, closed it with my leg and got a shock though my jeans!!

I dont think you get these as standard.

You can simply buy one from a car shop though.

Think it depends on what clothes you wear too, with the static build up.

it was me and i said kick it, as in with your shoe, then you wont get any shock at all

mines started all of a sudden as well, got a feeling its something to do with the high atmospheric pressure at the mo, well last week neway.... lots of static in the air.

Their are a couple of options but they dont work all that well, one option is the rubber strip u sometimes see hanging from the back of cars,
this is meant to act as an earth and discharge ne current...
the second is a similar principle but its a self adhesive pad that goes on the inside back edge of the door, this in basic terms uses up all the current and then discharges it as the cars sits at rest

but like I said they dont work all that well

ive only had the corsa bout 3 weeks and its shocked me evry day since ive had it

ill talk to my mate whos a leccy, see if he has any suggestions, other than that i will start kickin it or pushin on the window

mine is shocking me, my solution is to let my girlfriend close her door first so she gets the shock

best way hadn't thought of that. But Im 190 miles away from the missus, so that means Ill have to just stay in the car until I next see her, build up the current and give her oen hell of a shock

dont wear man made fibres someone told me... its a quirk with Vauxhalls.... Ive had 3 that have done it to me, and me Mums had 5 Vauxhalls and EVERY DAMN TIME I get a shock... believe it or not, discharge yourself via the tip of your finger, which aint to sensitive.....

lol it happened to me all the time with my nova and a few times with me corsa

some1 told me its the type of trainers ur wearing at the time, because they act as a conducter to the ground

really pissin me off now, i didnt even touch the door. my hand was about 2 inches away and i watched the static charge jump. thats got to be one big currcent to do that surely.
