350D is an old camera these days really, good quality but you should aim for better. Id say 500D or 550D

looking at camera price buster you can get a 500D with an 18-55mm lens for £515 you're looking more at £600 for a 550D with the same lens

is it definately a canon you're after? the equivalent nikon at that range is the D5000 (price wise) you can get that with the nikon equivalent lens for £475

or for £500 you can get the Sony A500 with 2 lenses its swings and roundabouts

why not look for a used canon 40D
it will be a great camera for what you need. and 6.5 fps... more than enough

Wow thats amzing, Thanks for all the replies all, i would go for a used one but ive got gift vouchers for places such as currys or argos or similar, so £500 really is the max, il be honest i dont really understand the differences between canon, nikon and sony, I have a sony tx-1 digital camera thats ok but want the more professional finish to photographs, so I would possibly edge towards the sony, I do want something reliable but again want the best I can get, any of you give me a top 5 to choose from and il get one of them

I have a canon 1000D cost me about £350, it's an entry level SLR and only about 2 years old, shoots raw and 3FPS. brilliant cam, don't always need to be expensive.

i shot these with me 1000D http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/18637642/1/Photography?h=4b8f98
