Standard internals going to cope with higher compression, especially 10psi of boost?

Thats what i thought.

1.8 sri lump is only 130bhp iirc. 100+ bhp is a big step for a bolt on kit unless its running big boost, which will surely kill it!

yes, theres one running 13psi fine

if you lower the compression you have to up the boost to get the same power...

nathans has run 8psi for over a year at 7000rpm with no problems at all

low boost high comp works well - for example honda tyre r's with bolt on supercharger or turbochargers gain 100bhp

epic car and build
to be honest 100 bhp is a big step up on standard internals but to be honest as long as its serviced reguraly enough n not given death from cold every day should be orite, things can only go bigger n better for this motor nice work

Fair enough, I just assumed that being 4psi off a BAR would have been high enough to need uprated bits and bobs. But i'm speaking from limited knowledge and will shut up now! Videos needed now though!

Lmao at people worring about the boost and standard compression!
My mates astra was running 21psi on a 2l 8v Head on a standard xe bottom end, so between 10.5-1 and 11-1 comp ratio!

Probably the C20NE they love boost abuse. Same can't be said for alot of other engines however. Hence statement.

Not at all, c20xe bottom end, and 8v head hence the higher comp.

Problem usually is people running not enough fuel, or to much advance.

I don't think Dbilas would sell the conversion, if it wasn't tested.

Looks good.
