Is there any genuine worth while advantage over servo assisted? Doing rear disc conversion so was thinking of all the options as I will re pipe the car for bias valve inside anyway.

Thanks in advance.

There must be advantages for a proper pedal box. But I wouldn't bother unless I needed the extra room in the bay.

Surely someone on here would know the advantages. Seems people buy them for the sake of it? Why you getting one col?

greater adjustment in bias (with two clyinders)

much better potential pedal feel (i.e not over servo'd)

weight saving.

I wouldnt go changing them on a whim... not just yet anyway. Spend the money on tyres/brakes and more car use

I have biggest brakes I can get under wheels. Them pirelli cut slicks I've got seemed very good. So I'm happy enough three. Just doing rear discs as drums were getting too hot. Rest of car I think isn't far off being as good as I can get it.

What pads do you use Nic? And fluid? I presume you have braided lines?

After a quick search it seems to be just so you can directly adjust the bias at the box.

But if your putting a bias valve in then i dont see the point.

Would have thought it'd be a lot harder to break with the lack of servo.

No ABS either which some people perfer.

Wouldn't bother then in my opinion.

Waste of money really.A ll you'll get is a few extra E-points.

It's just a saying, dont get too hung up on it!

Edit: I always wondered why people had problems with them and spent a decent amount on one

pedal feel.... not over servo'd (easier to push isnt better... just give a false impression of braking force)

pedal position..... much easier to heel-toe or learn to heel-toe

Nic - I wasnt meaning to buy new tyres and brakes just now... just in the future whey they run out. If you plan to do trackdays the best money spent is on actually DOING them, not buying gucci parts and halfing the potential trackdays you do. See what I mean?

My advice would be to go with a £20 inline bias adjuster for now and leave the pedal box 'till you really need it.

i dont really plan on doing many, maybe a couple next year. its not the sort of thing i can just go and do without considerable funding really.

will go along with bias valve for now though. i kinda think pedal box wouldnt really be a massive advantage for me as its still essentially just a road car.

i had one on mine, very direct pedal feel, very hard pedal feel, if you use the car on the road, and like a soft easy pedal then dont both, mine was a compbrake item, bit fiddly to set up, but once fitted etc, very good, then stamp on it and you stop

I’m getting one as it’s a much better brake feel. Especially as im going to live at Oulton park when mines done.
I wouldn’t bother if it was just for the road.

I did abit for research on them a while back as my mate Beardy introduced me to them.
With the Corsa known to lock up at the back and like you I’ve gone for disks on the back you can get the correct cylinder size to match the piston size of the calliper so the braking is correct. You also have the option of biasing the brakes from the control valve. Much much better flexibility on setting them up.

I posted a thread on MIG asking for some advice on the pedal box and some propper helpfull guy's got back to me. Link below so you can have a read of that.

Hope you find this useful mate.

Look around for master cylinders. If you buy the wrong ones you have to slay the bulkhead and it looks gash as fuck.

I got sick and tired of the pedal feel with the servo and std /mc set up, Think I went for .6 rear and .625 front cylinders which allowed me to opt for a bigger pistons in the front callipers, once set up breaking was fantastic
