Having a look on the bay came across this,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140460338902

Advert reads ; 180+ MPH VECTRA GSI NON TURBO, FAST AS EVO COUPE COSSIE

SPEC

2.5 24V MSD

185.3 BHP

197 LBS/FT

180+ MPH

F28 6 SPEED GEARBOX

185.3 BHP so its down on OE power, but still does 180mph

An 185bhp car will never make 180mph, I should know. Think F28's are actually geared for 180mph.

Gearbox doesn't restrict power. Power and rpm limit restruct speed. Not gearbox.

well if its good for 160mph on an f28 then doing 180 cant be good for it surely, im asking a simple question if the gearbox would break

Are you retarded?

Top speed is limited by a combination of the following:

A) Gearing.
B) Power.
C) Areodynamics.

Even if the gearbox is geared to 200mph the engine still needs to produce enough power to over come the levels of drag cause by air resistance on the body.

Exactly, I cant remember the F number but i know its of saab origin, a F28 Will Not bolt onto a V6 engine without a adapter plate.

Owners tend to use the adaptor plate to save moving the engine over.It will bolt right up, but the front engine mount will need a spacer.
