Got a 3.0d Auto x5 atm, whenever I put my foot down, it cuts out.

I've got to turn the ignition off and and back on. Which can be quite dangerous on a Motorway

It says something on the dash about transmision. If I drive like a fanny, then it works fine.

If I take it to a garage, will I get raped, or is it a simple fix?

Googled a bit and some people had problems with MAP sensors. I remember my dads mate telling me about BMW diesel pumps problems and he has 530d himself albeit a '99 model.

Oil Level is fine Adam, Deffo a kickdown problem.

Not sure on sensors, on a corsa I could stick a paper clip in the ecu, this is a bit different

Oil level is alright, and the temperature is standard, not above average at all.

How have you checked the oil level and temperature of the transmission in 10 minutes?

Pay someone who isn't going to speculate, someone who can actually tell you the answer by interrogating the transmission ECU.

"corsa" forum where a large chunk of regular posters do not currently own a corsa.

there is a wide range of knowledge from various Marques here and it's a very active forum compared to most so not a bad place to start imo.

Can we have another poll? Most of the regular/active users have been on here 5yrs+

In fact there's only 2 people in this thread who have been on here less than 5 years
