looking on the escort forum i am now a member of, there is a thread about how fast people have been and in what car.

some of the replies:

150mph is the fastest I have ever driven, in the BMW 120D
honda civic type R @ 160mph
143mph in my old nissan primera 1.6 si
Every hour the Universe expands by a billion miles in all directions.

The ST170 is the best one

Knew we should have chopped the astra in sooner.

In fact, D4 overtook one on the hanger straight at silverstone. Does this mean my old 2.0 16v corsa in fact done 175mph? Mega....

165 on Nelli - About 150. Speedo is lame.
149 on Bandito - Again, about 135
Corsa saw 100rpm short of the limiter on the F20. About 135. Or 114 on the 1.4.
Astra saw 160, but morelike 145.

Top speed is boring. Its more about how quickly you can get into, and get out of a bend.
