I have a problem with my mums freelander TD4. Its not starting and has a fault stored 'fuel delivery pressure monitoring' I have had a quick look, theres fuel out of the in tank pump, fuel out of the lift pump on the inner wing, and fuel going to the high pressure pump. No fuel at the injectors however.. Fuel delivery pressure on the scanner was only 1 - 1.5 bar but im not sure if thats rail pressure or what..

Question is:

Is it common for the chain driven high pressure pump to fail, or is there anything that would effectivly switch of the internal regulation? Cheers...

P.S i know this is a corsa forum, but there are some very knowlageable people on here..

I had similar symptoms on my green one, the fuel pump on the right side of the bay towards the back was dicky, they're 180 quid to change so I just used to hit mine with a stick.

Fuel pumps are notorious on them for being utter garbage.

Im leaning towards the pump on the inner wing after all i have read.. will pressure test after the pump i think.. its working, but im not sure if theres enough pressure there to be honest..

The car is sodding cursed, its on its second set of injectors and i had the worst day doing the clutch on it in the road..

I really hope its not the high pressure pump.. looks like no fun to change..

Hats off to you if you managed a clutch on one of them at the side of the road.
