it'll be blocked in the UK and Europe (i think the IMEI spreads to Europe as well?), but you could ship it off to africa/india etc where it should work....

What is he offering you considering it could go easily tits up (remember that insurance companies like to make sure you're not bullshitting, so they'll call you 6months or so down the line to re-confirm your story! They'll also keep an eye on the phone being used from the date/time you've reported it stolen/lost).

I did this with my iphone 3gs.

Claimed got £600 and then gave it to my sister.

Basically you just need to jailbreak the phone first, then they can't brick it.

Do it mate, I've done it a few times now, easy money! I never once got caught and they never even barred the old phone. Just tell them you lost the box and dont know the imei number
