You want to get yourself to Nottingham mate. I saw an old man taking one for a walk through the high street with his dog

How big are your bird feeders?!

I got a couple of a bullfinch in our garden the other day, the bluetits are in and out within a second, so not managed to get any of them yet.

Did you use a big lens, or are they cropped quite a lot? Or both? The bullfinch looks a lot clearer than I could manage with my 300mm

Thanks matt I haven't changed my name, no so I dont know, you must be having a spazz haha and cavey, We've moved house since that picture was taken but we only have one squirrel buster feeder and its medium sized with four feeding ports, cost 18 pounds though!
I use a 300mm lens but I sat and waited with my tripod on the floor about 2 metres away from the feeder and soon the birds feel safe to come out, you've just got to have patience and not move to much, it also helps that I started using the RAW setting for my pictures and not preset as it takes away one hell of a lot of quality on my camera and since using RAW the pictures have been top notch hope this helps oh and the pictures are zoomed and cropped a little, its the best results I can achieve to make the birds look nice lol

Bourton on the Water isn't that far from me, love it there Awesome place in the summer. Everything is expensive, but that's what you get with it being touristy

cheers mate, will have a go with that. I was going for something similar, had the camera setup a few mtres off on a tripod, got a remote as well, but the camera turned off by the time a bird turned up! So missed the shot

haha, remotes aren't the best thing to use with birds as there so quick but then you look like a fool sitting with your eye to the camera and your finger on the shutter lol! Its nice when you get a good result though Good luck!
