I ordered a 1:43 scale model of the Corsa B off eBay with a view to painting it in Arden Blue like my old car Partly because I have a few cans of paint for some reason, partly because I thought it would be cool

Unfortunately it's an Opel so LHD but that doesn't bother me too much tbh.

This is it in its nice box thing:

Then it came out of the box for some out of focus pictures

Yesterday I took it apart so that I can strip the paint off:

This was pretty easy as it just has one screw in the bottom then the rest literally fits together so pops out really easily.

I have come across a problem in that I don't know how I'm going to remove the rear lights and bumper and then re-fit them as they're more of a permanent fixture than the other parts.

Lastly for now, a random shot showing the detail on the fuel flap and the flake in the paint

I must admit I like the colour it's in (whatever colour it is) but it's nothing on Arden

I have some Nitromors to strip the pint off, just need to sort the lights and bumper first. Anyone got any ideas how to get them off so that they can go on again?

I reckon you will need to snip the plastic off the inside of the light then glue it back on afterwards

I was thinking about ways of gluing them back on, can't use poly cement because it will make them go all smokey but I do have a glue gun somewhere so that'd probably work.

Nice one Maberz, I'll see if they pop out first then. How did you strip down teh front bumper or did you just paint over the top? I'm a bit worried about attacking it with sandpaper

I thought the same Monster, the door windows have been smashed in too

Davieslim has one in red and it's a Vauxhall one not Opel but they're hard to come by.

I've tried and the lights and bumper don't want to come off It's because of the bit they've melted on the inside of the body. At the moment it's looking like I'll have to trim those bits as little as possible and then glue gun them back on somehow as inconspicuously as possible.

Cheers mate, as soon as i figure out what to do with these lights and bumper then the paint can come off. Might have some time tomorrow to look at it better. I want to try and get as much done over this long weekend as I can really. Painting can be done in the evenings so not too worried about that.
