not sure, try search takes you to the exact page now
what iv been up to over the last couple of days
please bare in mind this is still WIP and as such is, and looks unfinished
one sheet of 2000x500x1 alu

bend corners

draw some marks on the bumper

cut with grinder, eek

place sheet in the recess

bolted to the bumper

start to cut out for the exhaust

trial fit, needed loads of cutting and adjustment

almost there

after day 1

day 2, fitted the fins

quick shop of what it should look like painted

so anyway, still to do on it, edge trim, is sharp as fuck got to make another section to extend the pan of it to almost the rear beam, need to make up some bracing and support for it under the car also, and of course paint it

credit for simply just having a go
I need to remake our effort and your home-made bends on the alu are encouraging. Any more details on how? Blocks of wood, flat surface/edge, the two G clamps and patience aye?
It'll look miles better when painted matt or satin black.
Points to note - make sure the leading edge it tight against a floor so no air gets under. You seem to be aware of that anyway.
Also consider how much weight you are now adding back onto this car (that has 120odd bhp). Alu is light but its heavier that not having it there
PS - dont bother edge trimming it. Take the corners off though.

Looks the business Steve, all these people having a crisis over what you do and are adding, I say fuck them! It's your car and your money so do what you like and sod them all.anyone would think its an opinion thread instead of a project thread. Keep up the good work mate.

I agree that you should be trying the car out before adding this sort of stuff but fair play for giving everything a go like you do, it's looking good!
Even if this car doesnt get used much, you have something to be proud of and you're learning new materials and designs every week so that has to be a bonus and it isnt exactly spending thousands like most people do.
Same as Ben though, i have always wondered what you're family think of all this? Mine ask so many questions when i do the simplest of mods let alone doing the stuff you're doing
