I went along to Mallory Park yesterday to snap a friends new car he bought for his wife to have some fun in and also start a arrive and drive deal for others wanting some track/competition fun

Its Matt Neals 2004 BTCC Civic ! The car build quality is amazing! A credit to the original builders and also the extensive work that Redbrick Racing/Tractive have put into the car, the handling for a FWD car is amazing even in the wet!, I don't think any other car there today could come close to its cornering speed!

Anyways I'll let the pictures do some talking!

And some pictures out on track!

Is that from down my way owned by a guy called Dene who is an Autosmart rep?

If not, very coincidental as my AS rep has also got one of those he's restoring!

You would be amazed at the cost! But not for me to say!

The pedal layout out is fine, its the sitting in the back which takes getting used to!

we will see, don't forget that was Suzannes first time ever on track yesterday! I think it needs a a few more horses. but they have tried to keep the car drivable so anyone can drive it, i.e. no lumpy cams or harsh clutch etc.

Also depends if Paul Hughes decides to stay in N/A, or go into the F/I class

paul is running a 500+ turbo engine now. Cant see him going backwards unless its just too much power to use properly. BUT yes... they are similar cars... his was an ex asian touring car and with about 330bhp last year.

its going to be an arrive and drive car as well, the main reason the BTCC car was used is that it has cost a fraction of what it takes to convert a road car, the whole thing has been purchased/built on a very very limited budget but with max safety in mind.

because it will be an amazing starting point. If you have the money its a very sensible thing to do.

They EP3 only has about 260bhp the moment, but when I spoke to Paul at autosport he said that he had not ruled out N/A as they have not tested the F/I engine on track yet. Apparently they can swap it back to the NA engine in a day
