Failed on
- Corroded brake pipe
- Rear tyre less than 1.6mm
- Numberplate light doesnt work (easy fix, the holder always comes loose, same as last year)
- Inside of front brake disc scored  (where a stone or something has jammed in between - it was due new discs and pads anyway as the braking is somewhat not as sharp as it used to be  )
Advisories
- the other 3 brake pipes
- backbox looking a bit worse for wear (same as last year though)
Cutting the story short, Nationwide Autocentres wanted £195 for the discs and pads, and then £70 for the brake pipe, the independent round the corner looked at the fail sheet and said £130 done. I was like  how the fcuk do N/A get away with this stuff.....
Otherwise though, considering it passed first time last year and weve done nothing to it in a year and a half except put 2 (now 4) new tyres on it, serviced it twice and changed the glow plugs I dont think thats bad going on a 10 year old car?

Not bad, no. I'm dreading the MOT on my car this year. Will probably blow all my savings towards a new car
Nationwide Autocentres obviously has more overheads and a brand to uphold. All this stuff costs money.
1 man and his garage, you're almost just paying his wage and parts.

well that price of £130 is all incl of parts and labour and vat on the discs pads and brake pipe so im not complaining. Got the nearside rear type replaced as well and when they got it up on the ramp they said the other rear should have failed as well, but then they are at least 2 years old and used to be on the front so i guess they were due replacing lol
