Hiring a car trailer isn't difficult but check you're licensed to use it and have an appropriate tow car.

£20 a day here to rent a trailer, give or take a £10 i'd think.

Ebay have a few folk with transporter trucks, that'll collect and drop off you're car not too expensive, i was £160 from wales to scotland.

If you're license doesn't cover it, if someone has a license before i forget what year, they are legally okay to drive it!

750kg isn't enough, the trailer will be 500-odd.

Getting a company to pick it up on a loader is probably the easiest, hiring of a trailer is probably neerer £50 well it is at West Skelston Services. I took mine 400 mile on sunday,£70 in fuel.

I hired a van for 65 quid for the day with a towbar and insurance and got a trailer for 35 quid. I rung the DSA and they said aslong as the total combined weight of trailer, van, occupants isn't over 3.5t its fine, but I got a mate to drive it back when the car was on just be sure.

My understanding is as long as the car + trailer isn't over 3.5 T and the car wieght is greater than the tow weight it's all good

Nope.. As Nic says after June 1997 or something like that you cant tow more than 750kg PLUS the combined weight must be below 3.5T.

I have a towing A Frame so an empty rolling shell is the trailer.

No passenger in towed car needed.

I used it on a Mk3 Supra which are big barge without a problem

Even a empty Corsa shell on an A-frame is over weight.

Where from/to?

Dad has his own salvage/recovery company and knows people that do recoveries/deliveries.
