ok cool!!

i am creating a system for a hardware/software resale company. my system is nearly complete, but i need to create an invoice. do u think a report is the best way to do this?

Yeah as you will need to print out an invoice to send out, therefore it will have to look professinal

You would be better seeking help from a dedicated Access forum, or even help from your tutors - that's what they're there for.

joff - yeh i know that but ive left it a bit late!

jodi - ive tried to create an invoice based on a query, using a wizard but there doesnt seem any way to group the data on the invoice. what i mean is i could have orderID and the date in one box, customer details below it etc...

Basically, yes.

The structure of your tables and any relationships between them (altho relationships aren't necessary).

4 tables

customer, order, order line, stock

one customer can have many orders
one order can have many order lines
many order lines can have one stock item
