didnt someone on here own one?!

What makes them different/better than a normal 182? Spec? I know they only came in red and are limited edition. Worth it over a normal one?

Any advice welcomed....

nah higher spec then the cup.

Its basically a sport 182 with the cup packs, the red paint only available on the trophy, some trophy decals, sachs remote reservoir fancy/expensive suspension and recaro seats that are mounted alot lower then the oe sport items.

hold quite a premium over a regular 182 as well

sold it after 3 months. it basically a cup with recaros and sachs resevior dampers

prone to stone chips on the front end
better seating position than normal ones
i had mine on 3 wheels a few times

reccomend them over normal ones but wouldnt reccomend buying on as i thought it was boring

They just never feel fast Jambo, high revving engine, nothing below 5k rpm, not much more above it.

It'll get to 60 in 7 seconds but it's a boring 7 seconds.

im not all that fussed about straightline speed. Im downsizing. An astra gsi is fast in a straight line but totally void of any fun in the corners. Im not after pub stats on silly figures i want a car that fun. ill eat my hat if i drive one and dont agree but most road tests seem to say they are best handling fwd chassis for that time? Maybe a mini is better but thats a 5k premium for nothing other than a badge.

Nothing else on the market seems tto be half as good value

Even in the bends, unless you are a regular track user it's not any more fun than anything of the same size.

It's not the outright speed either, it could be 5 seconds or 15 seconds to 60, it just doesn't feel exciting.

my modded saxo felt quicker and was more fun to drive than the standard 172 i tested. although i imagine a modded 172/182 could be as fun

172's are a lot of car for a couple of k right enough, at 2.5-3k you are getting a lot of spec and it's quickish and not ancient.

At trophy prices though not a chance.

True dat.

I had a 182FF, completely dead before 5k RPM. Did handle well though. In all fairness my £800 Punto GT is more 'fun'.

Id agree with this, £3k for a new-ish hot hatch with suede/leather, climate, xenons etc.. is good money but not £7k for pretty much the same car

i wouldnt personally go out and buy a trophy unless you were a true renault entheuseast.

i got my 172cup as it was the best value fo rmoney hot hatch out there at the time, just sold it after 2.5years, great fun little car, tedious on long journeys tho.

out the box they are a good handling car, stick some eibach springs on and your onto a winner, brakes work well, its not FAST but its a quik car, if i ws buying again i would either get a cup packet 182 or a 172 FF with some cup styling added.

never had any issues with mine other than the ususal exhaust problem

Mines does 0-60 in 6.8 and loves getting slid round the lanes on the was to work.

I think they are a bargain. It does depend on your driving style though
