My beemer is currentley off the road but thinking of putting it back on for a bit. If i insure the car does anyone know how soon i can buy the roadtax online there after? Its just i need to use it Thursday and with the postal strikes i doubt it would get here ontime.
I have the v5 in my name as have owned the car for 6 months so not like the usual problems when you buy a new car.

Should be virtually straight away. You could also tax at a Post Office if you have a covernote and MOT in place.

I would imagine that when you insure it you should be able to tax it straight away as it would be on the database? I presume the car is MOT'd aswell

The cover note would take days to arrive thats my worry but if it is done online i could drive the car whilst waiting for the disk and cert to arrive

You could do it online if the insurance goes through electronically quick enough.
Has it got current MOT?

Seen it done online as long as you have valid MOT.

My insurance company faxed me my covernote the minute I got the insurance. Went in and taxed 5 mins later.
