Just wondering what axle would fit my 1.6 corsa sport if I wanted to upgrade to rear disc brake?

You need a conversion kit, some Cavalier/Astra rear disks, calipers and stub axles. You need to remove the Corsa stub axles and cut off the spacer plate. You then need to weld on the plate from the conversion kit and drill the new holes through the Corsa beam. It's also fairly good practice to weld over the old holes using a MIG welder and a copper plate, or whatever your preferred method is. The whole lot will then bolt together. You need to make up some new brake lines and bodge together a handbrake cable.

It's a lot of work considering as you don't need rear disks. You'll find that the car gets very tail happy under heavy braking too. I refuse to believe anyone who says otherwise as I have first hand experience of it,

I'm trying to convince my mate not to put discs on the back of his Nova, he already has big grooved discs on the front and wilwood 4 pot calipers so its stops alright but he's determined it'll be alot better with discs on the back too. I need to disprove this.

This is true. Although we did manage to play with the rear brake bias on mine and got it to brake in a straight line under heavy braking
