Considering putting my BMW up for sale..............does anyone care to talk me in/out of it??
Its good fun but not pant wettingly fun, costs a fair whack to run & I dont even get the chance to put many miles on it with me working away. It kind of pains me having it sitting on the drive loosing £'s.
I just dont think i'd miss it much either. Its not made a massive impact on me like I thought it would........................
Its sitting pretty just now for a private sale, probably as good as it will get at least. Just had £k's lashed on it, paintwork, tyres, warranty work, 2 services (brake/inspII). Still has 5 months transferable warranty.
Only problem is im not sure what i'd get next.
Its been suggested to punt this & the mini & get one new car but its going to have to be pretty tame in order to get Jade insured as she's only been a driver 1 year.
Could get somnething terrifying like a TVR or the likes but im not sure its me.
Idea's...............

Could do, Id look a wally driving around in a mini convert-un-able though
What can be bought brand new for around 25k that wont be steep to insure for a 20yr old & will still be pretty fast? Or is that too tall an order??

Why buy brand new? Too much electronics / safety devices to make them fun IMHO.

Those are both different options.
Option 1 - something to share.
Option 2 - Something to scare (me).

No bill's for 3yrs is the main draw.

But with an older car, you'd be saving a shed load so effectively will be spending the same maintaining, probably less tbh.

No bills but you'll lose more as soon as you drive it off the forecourt.

As said, buy a decent car that you and Jade can use between you and buy something silly for when you're home and want a bit of fun.

Yeah but x1 Running costs/tax/mot/ins/depreciation etc etc instead of x2.
Ive got in my mind stuff like TTS, New Scirocco R, Focus RS. They all hold pretty good residules....more so than a 5yr old M3 & a 4yr old Bini

Why not trade her Mini and your M3 and get her something like a JCW Mini, and yourself a 4.5 V8 Cerbera? An excellent condition Trevor goes for £12,000 now with low mileage and the performance is utterly stonking 0-60 in under 4 seconds, 100 in under 9, and a 1/4 mile in under 12... Ridiculously, RIDICULOUSLY fast machine!
