Is it a good idea?

A civic type r has come up at a good price and is a really nice spec, ie how I would have wanted mine to be if it was still here.

Just worried it wont be as good as I remember and there is nothing wrong with the saxo really and I enjoy driving it

Just miss having a more modern car I dont mind been seen in

Surely its just like upgrading your car. Like when you went from your 1.2 to your GSI.

Would you still have your other Type R if you hadn't stacked it?
If the answer is yes, then yes, it's a good idea.

My first car was an XSI and I regretted selling it every day, I had about 5 cars inbetween before I had to get another one.

My first car was a MK II Escort. I've wanted another ever since it got smashed up.

They are so expensive now though, it will be years before I can afford another one.

Would have a civic over a saxo every time.

That will sound awful with a de-cat and middle box removed! The rest sounds good but it does need the standard wheels back and pre facelift lights!

Nice car but I wouldnt buy another CTR. The look great and handle well but the runnin costs are rediculous for what it is. Insurance is expensive, MPG is laughable for an N/A 2ltr car and its higher tax than my evo. Infact my evo is cheaper to run than the old CTR we had.

Go for it mate I think you have some unfinished business and at worst you can sell it on later if it doesnt feel the same.

As for running costs he's owned one before so is well aware of this. Its laughable and naive to even think an Evo would be cheaper to run than an Civic Type R in the long run.
