just took the missus`s astra for an MOT and it flew through apart from the CO reading at .87
thats rather high considering its had a CAT replaced a year and a half ago?? it was an aftermarket one though, ive already tried another lambda sensor and it was still high,
should i try another CAT
im really hoping its not gonna be an expensive fix

ohh, its a 1999 1.6 8v mk4 astra

Spark plugs need changing maybe?? Or try running a bottle of redex through it to clean everything out and see what happens.

Try the cheapest thing first. Just take it for a good run, then give it a good service (plugs, oil, filters). If its a newish cat, I can't see it been that.

I was told by my MOT tester that it isnt uncommon for aftermarket cats to be useless within a year, my cat was two years old and failed emissions.

ok, ive replaced the plugs today, its a bit hard to get it out for a good run because it has no tax, so cant insure it. ill give it a new air filter, oil and filter and try some redex... ill see if i can get a cheap cat from somewhere

Ive heard this too. Mate what you wana try is Wynns Pre MOT emissions reducer (or something like that) they sell it at halfords, some people swear by it... its good stuff.
