i need a 4x4 for the dogs as the corsa just doesnt fit 2 dogs and 3 kids in it i was going to save and get a cheap one around feb time as thats when the insurance is up on the corsa and i'll be a year older, then put the corsa and 4x4 on a multi car policy, but i have been thinking, i really am getting bored of the corsa, i have had a xe engine sat in the garage for the past 6 months and i just havent got round to fitting it and cant see it getting fitted any time soon,

should i sell the corsa and engine then buy a 4x4 then buy a xe corsa next year? or should i just wait untill next year to buy a 4x4 and keep the corsa?

i just dont know any more what to do, i always said i wouldnt get rid of the corsa as i do love to drive it

If you're bored of the Corsa, and can't see yourself fitting the engine any time soon, why would you buy another next year? Sell the car and engine, and buy yourself an Estate. Something huge like an E300 Merc and you won't need a pain in the arse 4x4.

You'll regret it, the 1.8 is ridiculously unreliable.

I'd put a large wad of cash on a bet saying a Freelander won't survive as well as an old tank like an E300 Merc in an accident. And they aren't as comfortable to drive around towns either. And won't have as much space.

Don't get an essex tractor just because they look nice, could you afford to run a 4x4? as said just get an estate, a volvo at that, bullet proof and will be far better for the dogs.

TD4 Freelander would be a fairly good choice but if you pick a bad one it'll be expensive to run.

Clutch is 400 quid. Centre diff probably the same. They're not good on fuel either.

Petrol you've also got the HG issue.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

You don't need a 4x4 for 3 children and two dogs.
