Im looking at an impreza sti or type r as my next car and ill be 22 when this time comes around.
Just wondering if anyone around similar age is getting quotes for them or owns one and who are you with etc.
Tried flux few months ago and they said they dont do imports for under 25 which i thought was abit crap considering i feel if im willing to pay money why refuse to insure anyone under 25.
Any info would be cool thanks

It's funny how everyone sucks P1's balls, they're nothing special really. Just a badge.

lets be realistic, your gonna get raped by whatever you choose.
Sti or type r youl be lucky under 25, if not stupidly expensive.
best bets maybe a WRX RA import? i duno what your looking for.
Iv got a highly modded uk turbo, running circa 350hp all mods declared £1900 FC with keith micheals im 22 and 4 years no claims.
when it coms to insurance everyones gonna be different

Yeah, I'd like a 2dr too at some point. Certainly wouldn't be a P1 tho

main reason id be wanting a type r is because it different than the million other impreza's i see driving round i prefer the classic shape to the rest aswell, i know id be looking at a high price. Wouldnt really be interested in a uk model, i would get a p1 but as said come with a price and you can pick a type r up cheaper with less mileage than most p1's aswell. id just something that feels alot more stable to drive and something that i could keep for a good few years rather than just chucking money away at a corsa

Just bear in mind the cost if it goes pop. Won't be seeing any change out of £2k for a rebuild.

i would look a tad further into running one + common faults with them etc before commiting yourself, its whole different ball game to a small fwd vauxhall, lots of fun, but it comes at a price. and buying is a minefield...

Yeah big bills when they go wrong, ive had a couple of uk's. 2k+ if the bottom end starts knocking depending on what sort of rebuild you want, i blew 3rd gear on my rb5 cost £1806 for a new box and clutch.

i dont mind running costs of them, already know they wont be cheap, but would rather have a car that i could keep more long term to throw money at rather than spend loads of money on something that wont ever handle as good and still rattle and twitchy

Do you insure it or are you added to your uncles insurance?
