its illegal to have two different diameters on the one axle, dont think theres a problem with having say 15's on the front and 16's on the rear etc

sorry i didnt mean the wheel size..

basically at the moment i have 175s (7j wheel) on the front and 195s (8j wheel) on the rear, i want 175s all round but need another 175 (but havnt found one as yet) so thinking of putting the 175s from the fronts on the rear and the 195s on the front for the time being so i can lower the rear down more (aswell as camber shims) as the 195s catch at the moment..

I have 225's on the front & 255's on the back

Comes that way from factory....infact I was going to put 265 or 275's (255's look a bit stretched on the 9j rears!!) on but they were too expensive!!

im talking about the other way round colin, so say you had the 225s rear and 255s on the front..

it would only be for a short time untill i can find another 175 for the front..

the only laws are for same size wheels on an axle as far as im aware. nothing about which is bigger. tyres basically just have to be legal tread and not catch.

there like £70 each for the size, and there only 14", i havnt got that money to splash out anytime soon just got to much on with xmas coming up, so if i could do what i asked (put the fronts on the rear etc) and wait untill i can find another part worn like i have then that would be ideal tbh.

Can't see a problem, As already said it doesnt matter if there different on the front than on the rear.

Only think I can see is if it will catch as cars sit lower on the front don't they

On a related note, you might know it from a scene forum, there's a kind of gunmetal grey mk1/2 golf up here sitting on the ground, stupid camber, american back plate (with a legal uk one in the window ).

Looks completely stupid.
