As you may know we currently hire equipment so for events like Combe we have the hospitality trailer and for PVS the motorhome. For Trax this year we were not able to get a vehicle there due to fuel costs being charged by the companies who we got quotes from. When combined with the hire charges and labour we were being quoted over £1000 for hospitality for the day. Obviously this is not a good use of club funds.

We also hire a van to transport equipment which, although not as expensive is also a cost to the club. Particularly as we need a fairly large van and this restricts who can drive it. Frequently whoever gets the job will need to take time off work to collect and return the van. This also means we have a four day hire period for a weekend because we need to pack and unpack.

As a result I've made the decision to buy and convert a commercial vehicle to our specification. I've put a deposit down and Ste and I are collecting it this weekend. I'm personally funding the purchase because there's not enough money on the CS account to cover it and I also don't want to put CS in a position of not having enough to cover things like web hosting. I'll also be taxing and insuring it in order to bring it home.

This is going to massively skint me but I want to do it so we have a facility to call our own and we can do more events without incurring rental charges each time.

The big problem is that currently, its an empty box with nothing in it. It needs a kitchen and bathroom, seating, IT facilities, cosmetic work, the whole job to convert it.

The bank are unwilling to help because CS is not a business.

So my next choice is to call upon the members. Donations are gratefully accepted.

Paypal - ian@corsasport.co.uk

** EDIT - do it as a gift and there is no fee!! **

Bank transfer - u2u me.

You may also choose to sign up to prem which carries a great many more benefits, if you are not already a member. This will also help us out.

Many thanks.

Out of interest, how many 4 day rental charges would it take to cover the cost of the new van?

Oh, and u2u'd.

We spent about 50% of the price of the van last year on rental of one thing and another.

Indeed. We'll be square in a few years and up after that. Plus we can do more events than currently. Its got a fairly good business case. Just needs money in the short term.

Bank Transfer is to Barclays but no matter it'll just take longer. There's no fee to either person.
