Booked my MOT for today (lunchtime) and coming into work the bloody engine light flickers on and off a few times.... just my fuckin luck.

Was going to get it done last week but i took my arches off (car was too low and it was rubbing) and didnt put them back in on time. Took it in and they said 'thats a fail mate' before i had even given it to em... so i drove off haha , didnt realise without arches on its a fail oh well...

Wish me luck

It wont fail because the light is on. If it's a fault that will make it over fuel then the emissions will make it fail.

It did come on a while back (couple of months ago) for about 10 seconds and the paperclip test revealed it was the lambda sensor... so thats my guess

You'll only get an adivsory for the EML.

Also if you drove off from a booked in test I wouldnt take it back to the same place as they wont be best pleased with you.

Failed on.....

1. Offside headlamp aim too low
2. Nearside headlamp aim too low
3. Offside headlamp insecure
4. Offside rear parking brake recording little or no effort
5. Nearside front shock absorber has negligible damping effect
6. Offside front shock absorber has negligible damping effect
7. Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle excessive
8. Parking brake efficieency below requirements

  massive fail... going to refit standard (front) suspension tonight, adjust handbrake, fix clip on headlights and adjust headlight aim.

What can i do for emissions?

my emissions test results are as followed...

Fast Idle Test
CO Level = 0.58%   FAIL
HC Level = 103 ppm PASS
Lambda = 1.03   PASS

Second Fast Idle Test
CO Level = 0.72%   FAIL
HC Level = 131 ppm PASS
Lambda = 1.04   FAIL

Natural Idle Test
CO Level = 0.50%   PASS

have you serviced the car lately...

and checked the EML with paperclip... if its the lamba then you will need to change it.

  O is oxygen, CO is Carbon Monoxide.
