I currently have a mk4 astra van and have started doing alot of commuting on the motorway, finding the astravan very tiresome and noisy and slow on the motorways.

Now i saw an ad for a VW passat, the one below:

I was shocked to see it was only up for £1200. I had the idea of having the rear windows vinyl wrapped in body colour silver, flushing the rear door handles and removing the rear seats and building a bulkhead. Thus creating a semi van, basicly what the astra is.

So if anyone has any info on the window tinting/vinyl wrapping in body colour that would be great.

Also i see these passats in a range of outputs 90-130bhp how do you tell which is which? Are they tunable?

Thanks

HPI Check site shows it as a 20V, not sure which engine that is though, I'm not all that up on VAG engines.

Would be better speaking to a signwriter if you want the rear windows covered in coloured vinyl, as it will be cheaper for starters.

Ok that one was just an expample it is a petrol but i'd go for the diesel.

I was just wondering what TDI engines were available for the passat and what output they gave?

Why would it defeat the object? It would be like a car derived van (like my astra van) but with a decent engine and far more comfortable and refined. Oh and yes i dont carry a huge amount but would have std suspension not lowered like that.

I'm an empolyed carpenter so carry no materials only tools, the astra van is a perfect size. Plus its my only vehicle so it being basicly a car means it drives ok too.

Ok now after looking into it more, i see prices of A6 Avant's are resonable!

Thinking of going for one of these now, specificly the v6 TDI 2.5. Does anyone have any info or experience of this model or engine?

Also a guy on an Audi forum posted this pic of his BMW, a bit of inspiration!
