How epically bad is this mess?
I went to service the car earlier, pulled the coilpack off to get the plugs out, and all 4 wells are swimming with oil, almost to the top :'(

Yup just cam cover gasket..

Try and get as much oil out as possible before you remove the spark plugs or you might end up bending a con rod!

ooo didnt know about that bit lol I guess a syringe is best to use to get the oil out. How much oil dripping into the cylinder would cause problems? I guess just a small about would just burn off.

Anything more than a few teaspoons will raise the compression ratio through the roof which means bendy, bendy con-rod time!

I had this problem in my old V6, just removed the plugs and cranked it, cleaned up plugs and leads put them back together and smoke the street up for about 5 minutes

Turn the car upside down and shake it out.

Seriously though, providing there's no issue of anything feeding back and anything coil orientated is disconnected, i'd just whip the plugs out, cover the holes with something absorbant and then spin the engine over on the key whilst they are still out and before fitting the new ones.

as has been said, just leave the plugs out and crank it, easier than trying to syrinje it out, whats left after that will burn off
