Clay bar kit will do what you want.

Polish is for polishing and wax protects the paint (basically)

Clay it Matt, will be reet then

Polish is an abrasive and removes a thin layer of clearcoat that has been oxidised etc, wax goes on top of the paint to protect it, and makes it feel super smooth

Presumably what you meant to put

Clay just picks up the contaminants from the surface, doesn't actually remove anything other than a build up of dirt/grime. The only harm is if you push the contaminants into the clearcoat and they damage the finish.

Your 09 plate car has paint that feels like sandpaper? I'd be taking it back to the dealer and kicking up a fuss.

I personally would but mum couldnt be bothered really about it plus she is never stepping foot back into seat again after owning the car and being unable to drive it because they pissed about swapping the plate details over

ill give it ago with the clay bar next week to see what it does.

A clay bar isn't going to do shit if the paint is fucked though. Fiat didn't do a particularly good job of putting my plate on my car, but I still took it back to them to sort out the couple of issues it's had. You're mad if you're going to put up with a shit paint job on a new car.
